Cuttack, 13/01/2021 ( Odisha Samachar / Debasis Ratha) : Noted social activist and tea seller Padma Shri Devarapalli Prakash Rao ( D Prakash Rao) passed away while undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College and Hospital here today , following following a brain stroke.
Earkier He was admitted to the hospital after testing positive for COVID-19 on December 25. He was also being treated for kidney-related ailments. Rao was shifted to the ICU of the hospital after his condition deteriorated.
Rao had been awarded the Padma Shri on March 11 last year for his work towards providing education to slum children. He has also been a regular blood donor at the SCB Hospital and also provides boiled milk and water for free to the patients. He has donated more than 100 units of Blood .
