Odisha Police handled COVID situation with compassion & empathy: DGP

Bhubaneswar, 27/12/2020 ( Odisha Samachar / Abhishek Mohanty )-Odisha Police has handled the COVID situation with compassion and empathy, said DGP Abhay on Sunday.

Addressing the 62nd senior police officers’ conference, the DGP said 47 police personnel have died due to COVID-19 while 900 others have donated plasma after recovery from the disease.”

Highlighting that the crime situation in 2020 is under control in the state, Abhay said, “Seventeen Maoists have been neutralized while 32 have been arrested. Similarly, 21 ultras have surrendered before police in 2020.”

A record amount of narcotics like ganja and brown sugar have been seized this year, he added.
