Cuttack,23/12/2020 ( Odisha Samachar / Dipti Ranjan Kanungo)-Today i.e. on 23.12.2020, Sri Krushna Chandra Dash, R.I, Kaithkhola Revenue Circle under Chandabali Tahasil, Dist. Bhadrak has been caught by the officers of Vigilance, Balasore Division for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs.8,000/- (Rupees Eight Thousand) through retired Peon Sri Baidhar Jena from complainant Sri Satyabrata Maity of village Purnaprasad, PS-Dhamra, Dist. Bhadrak in order to submit verification report to Tahasildar, Chandabali in 8 numbers of mutation cases in favour of the complainant.

Accordingly, a trap was laid on 23.12.2020. Accused Sri Krushna Chandra Dash, R.I was caught by the officers of Vigilance, Balasore Division  inside his office room while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.8,000/- (Rupees Eight Thousand) from the complainant through Sri Baidhar Jena, retired Peon. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Jena and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Jena as well as wash of his pant pocket gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance of bribe money by him.  House of Sri Krushna Chandra Dash, R.I at Jagannathpur, PS/Dist-Bhadrak and his office room at Kaithkhola Revenue Circle are being searched. Both Sri Krushna Chandra Dash, R.I and Sri Baidhar Jena, retired Peon have been arrested and are being forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. case No.31 dt.22.12.2020   U/s 7 of PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
