Bhubaneswar, 23/12/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )-Krishi Vigyan Kendra–Khordha andICAR- Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA), Bhubaneswar jointly organized an awareness training programme on “Agricultural technologies for conversion of waste to wealth” as a part of “SwachhataPakhawada”celebration at KVK-Khordha on 22.12.2022. Dr. H. K. De, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIFA, Bhubaneswar highlighted the different agricultural technologies for generation of wealth from waste. He also briefed the various programmes and policies implemented by the Government of India for women empowerment.Mr. A.K. Dash, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK-Khordha highlighted the different methods of preparation of organic fertilizers and plant growth regulators utilizing waste from agriculture. He also encouraged the village people to practice organic farming for safe food production. Earlier, Dr.Harapriya Nayak, SMS (Home Science) welcomed the delegates and briefed about the mushroom production utilizing crumpled paddy straw to bring swachhata in agricultural activities. She also aware the participants to maintain hygiene and sanitation for better health. Practical demonstration on vermicompost preparation was organized for the participants.Vegetable seedlings were distributed to the participants for their kitchen garden. Besides, the participants visited the CIFA Aquarium and KVK Demonstration Units. About 45 participants from Rajas and Majhihara village of Balipatna Block, Khordha District participated in the awareness programme. Smt. Sukanti Behera ACTO (Home Science) proposed vote of thanks.
