JUNIOR ENGINEER, BEGUNIAPADA BLOCK, DIST- GANJAM ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE WHILE ACCEPTING RS 7,000/- BRIBE FOR RELEASE OF DUES TOWARDS CONSTRUCTION OF A CATTLE SHED UNDER “MO GUHAL SCHEME”.

Cuttack,2/9/2022 ( Odisha Samachar)- Today i.e. on 02.09.2022, Sri Sudhansu Sekhar Mallick, Junior Engineer (JE), Beguniapada Block, Dist-Ganjam has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.7,000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand) from a complainant (beneficiary under “Mo Guhal Scheme”) for facilitating release of dues towards construction of a cattle shed in favour of complainant.

Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 02.09.2022, wherein the accused Sri Sudhansu Sekhar Mallick, JE was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance inside office premises of Beguniapada Block while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.7,000/- (Rupees Seven Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Mallick and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash as well as pant pocket wash of Sri Mallick gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the rented house of Sri Mallick at Majhi colony, Frontline, PS-Kabisurya Nagar, Dist-Ganjam, his residential house at village Keutalangua, PS-Kuakhia, Dist-Jajpur and his office chamber. Accused Sri Sudhansu Sekhar Mallick, JE has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance P.S. Case No.16 dated 01.09.2022 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
