CASH RS.1,72,550/- RECOVERED AND SEIZED FROM HIS RENTED RESIDENTIAL HOUSE AT BOLANGIR.
Cuttack,10/5/2022 9 Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 10.05.2022, Sri Harihar Swain, Forester, Sindhekela Beat under Bangomunda Forest Range, Dist-Bolangir has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.1,00,300/- (Rupees One Lakh Three Hundred) from laborers working under different projects of Forest Department through their representative who happens to be the complainant.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 10.05.2022 wherein the accused Sri Harihar Swain, Forester was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in the residential-cum-office chamber of Sindhekela Section, Bangomunda Forest Range while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.1,00,300/- (Rupees One Lakh Three Hundred) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Swain and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Swain gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the Govt. residential quarter-cum-office chamber of Sri Swain at Sindhekela Section, Bangomunda Forest Range, rented residential house at Thikadarpada, Bolangir town and newly constructed single storeyed building at Chimnibhatipada, Bolangir. During searches, cash Rs.1,72,550/- has been recovered and seized from rented residential house at Thikadarpada, Bolangir town. Sri Harihar Swain, Forester has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.19 dated 09.05.2022 U/s 7 (b) PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
