Subhashree Priyadarshini, Ex-RI, Kiakata Revenue Circle under Athamallik Tahasil, Dist-Angul, A/p-RI, Pallahara, Dist-Angul was facing trial in the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Angul in Cuttack Vigilance P.S. Case No.51 dated 28.09.2015 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 for demand and acceptance of illegal gratification of Rs.4,500/- (Rupees Four Thousand Five Hundred) from a complainant to submit verification report to the Tahasildar, Athamallik for issuance of RoR in favour of Complt.
Today i.e. on 10.05.2022, the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Angul convicted Smt. Subhashree Priyadarshini, RI and sentenced her to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 years and to pay fine of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) for the offence U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The Hon’ble Court further sentenced her to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 years and to pay fine of Rs.8,000/-(Rupees Eight Thousand) for the offence U/s 13(1)(d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Both the sentences are to run concurrently.
Smt. J. Pradhan Ex-Inspector of Vigilance, Cuttack Division had investigated the case and Sri Udaya Sankar Mishra, Spl. P.P, Vigilance, Angul conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
