SENIOR CLERK, DISTRICT TREASURY OFFICE, KENDRAPARA ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE WHILE ACCEPTING RS 5,000/- BRIBE.

Cuttack,8/4/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 08.04.2022, Sri Samaray Hembrum, Senior Clerk, District Treasury, Dist-Kendrapara has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from the complainant in order to pass the final pension bill of his wife (Retired Teacher). The bill was pending with Sri Hembrum for last two months.

Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 08.04.2022  wherein the accused Sri Samaray Hembrum, Senior Clerk was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance inside the store room of District Treasury office, Kendrapara while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Hembrum and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Hembrum gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, search has been launched on the residential house of Sri Hembrum, Senior Clerk at village Kharinasi, Ps-Jambu, Dist-Kendrapara. Sri Hembrum, Senior Clerk has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. Case No.25 dated 07.04.2022 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
