Cuttack,9/11/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- In one more Vigilance Operation today, i.e. on 9.11.2021, Smt. Sarala Dei, CDPO, Balikuda, Dist-Jagatsinghpur and Smt. Pratima Sahu, Anganwadi Supervisor, Balikuda, Dist-Jagatsinghpur have been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) from a complainant for release of finance assistance for purchase of toys, banners and other articles by Self-help groups under POSHAN Scheme.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 9.11.2021 wherein the accused Smt. Sarala Dei, CDPO and Smt. Pratima Sahu, Anganwadi Supervisor were caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in the office of CDPO at Oronala, Jagatsinghpur while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.20,000/- (Rupees Twenty Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money including Rs.15,000/- from Smt. Dei, CDPO and Rs.5,000/- from Smt. Sahu, Anganwadi Supervisor respectively was recovered from their possession and seized. Office working table of Smt. Dei, CDPO and both hands wash of Smt Sahu, Anganwadi Supervisor gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by them. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the office room of Smt. Dei, CDPO and her house at Asia, Dist-Jagatsinghpur and office room of Smt. Sahu and her house at Analakhia, Dist-Jagatsinghpur. Both the accused persons have been arrested and are being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. Case No.24 dated 8.11.2021 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against them and is under investigation.
