Jagatsinghpur, 25/7/2025 ( Odisha Samachar )- Sri Sukanta Kumar Das, Former Junior Revenue Assistant, office of Tahasildar, Kujanga, A/p-Junior Revenue Assistant, District Emergency Section, Collectorate, Jagatsinghpur, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance vide Cuttack Vigilance PS case No.15 dt.23.09.2017 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act, 1988

for demanding and taking bribe of Rs.10,000/- from a complainant for facilitating issuance of RoR in his favour in a lease case, was dismissed from Govt. service as per provision of OCS(CCA) Rules,1962 with immediate effect from today i.e. 25.07.2025 by the competent authority following his conviction by Hon’ble Spl. Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack in bribery case. Sri Das was convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack on 03.04.2025 and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 years and fine.

Following conviction of Sri Sukanta Kumar Das, Odisha Vigilance had communicated in this regard to the competent authority to take appropriate action against Sri Das. Accordingly, Sri Sukanta Kumar Das, Former Junior Revenue Assistant, office of Tahasildar, Kujanga, Dist-Jagatsinghpur, A/p-Junior Revenue Assistant, District Emergency Section, Collectorate, Jagatsinghpur was dismissed from Govt. Service by the competent authority for bribery.
