SECTION OFFICER, AGALPUR TAHASIL, DIST-BOLANGIR ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE WHILE ACCEPTING RS 35,000/- BRIBE.

Cuttack,31/3/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 31.03.2022, Sri Kishore Kharsel, Section Officer, Agalpur Tahasil, Dist-Bolangir has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.35,000/- (Rupees Thirty-five Thousand) from the complainant (Tractor owner) to release his seized tractor and for not imposing any fine on him.

Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 31.03.2022  wherein the accused Sri Kishore Kharsel, Section Officer was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in his office room at Agalpur while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.35,000/- (Rupees Thirty-five Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Kharsel and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Kharsel gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, search has been launched on the residential Govt. quarter of Sri Kharsel, Section Officer at Revenue colony, Hatisalpada, Bolangir town, Dist-Bolangir. Sri Kharsel, Section Officer has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.14 dated 30.03.2022 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
