Bhubaneswar, 21/2/2026 ( Odisha Samachar )- 21st Scientific advisory committee meeting was held at KVK Campus on dt 21.02.2026 in hybrid mode. Professor Prasannajit Mishra, Director, Extension Education , OUAT, BBSR and Dr. K.S.Das, Principal Scientist, ATARI, Kolkata joined in virtual mode and the meeting was chaired by DEE, OUAT.
The meeting was mainly concerned to discuss the achievements of KVK during 2025 and Action Plan for the year 2026-27.

Professor Tusar Ranjan Mohanty, Head, Agrometerology, Dr. Sarbani Das, JD (information) and Professor Pramod Kumar Panda, ADR, RRTTS, Bhubaneswarn from OUAT have joined the meeting and extended their valuable suggestions. Senior Scientist and Head, KVK, Jagatsinghpur presented the action taken report, achievements and Action plan . Action taken report and achievements were well praised by the members.
Line department officials including Sri Kulamani Barik, CDAO, Dr. Ajay Kumar Sahu, CDVO, Sri Gobinda Pradhan, AFO, Smt Monalisa Hota, ADSCO, Sri Anil Kumar Pradhan, LDM, Priyanka Pattanayak, representative of DSW, Sri Satya Ranjan Das, ASCO, Senior Scientist and Heads of Puri, Kendrapada, Cuttack district KVKs have joined in the meeting and tendered their valuable suggestions and advise for betterment of Action plan of KVK. Four numbers of progressive farmers and farm women also joined the meeting and shared their views and problems associated with agriculture in the district.

Dr. Pradip Day, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Kolkata joined the meeting in virtual mode and shared his views to focus on ODOP (one district one product), suitable climate resilient technologies and convergence activities.
Though many aspects on agriculture and allied were discussed but major focus was on flood and salt tolerant rice varities, management of saline soil, low cost feeding in dairy cows, suitable variety green gram cultivation, conservation of desi disease pest resistant crop varities, disease management in Fish farming and spreading of finger millet cultivation.Towards the end part of the meeting total 6 nos. literatures including one Newsletter named Krushishree were inaugurated by the members.
Dr. K.S.Das, Principal Scientist , ATARI, Kolkata appreciated the effort of KVK staffs and encouraged for even more convergence activities in the district.
Lastly Chairman concluded the meeting by stating the importance of convergence effort of Scientists of KVK and line department officials for benefit of farmers of the district
All the Scientific staffs of KVK took part in the meeting to make it a grand success.
