Bhubaneswar, 06 /02/2026 ( Odisha Samachar / Rajat Mohapatra)-Senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer Shri Suresh Kumar Vashishth, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government today assumed charge as the Principal Secretary of the Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities.

After taking charge, he was welcomed by Departmental Director Ms. Parul Patawari, Special Secretary Ms. Rajani Jani, Financial Advisor and Special Secretary Smt. Jayashree Tripathy, Additional Secretaries, Shri Deepak Routrai and Smt. Sonia Behera, along with other Senior Officers and staff.

Principal Secretary Shri Vashishth received a briefing from the officers regarding the functioning of the Department. He emphasized the need to streamline departmental activities and sought the cooperation of all officers for the effective implementation of welfare-oriented schemes aimed at empowerment and entitlements of persons with disabilities and senior citizens.
