In total 8,164 fisheries and livestock farmers, 26 farmers from each block will participate.
From each Subdivision 6 individuals, a total number of 348 successful animal husbandry and fish farming practitioners will be felicitated.
20 best departmental officers will be honoured for notable achievements.
Subject experts will participate in 12 interactive panel discussion sessions.
In the ‘Ask the Minister’ program, Honble F&ARD Minister will answer to the queries of the farmers.
An exhibition is being organized in three hangars showcasing around 208 stalls for fishing, livestock, various departments, and companies.

For more attraction Murrah Buffalo Bull (“SURVEER” & “INDER” from Haryana), PUNGANUR COW from Andhra Pradesh, KANKREJ Bull (Gujarat) Virtual reality farm tour, Dog Show, Pet Fashion Show, Selfie with PM, CM & Ministers, Poultry Experience Zone, Pet Zone, Kids Zone, Painting Exhibition, Drone Show, Laser Show etc. will be showcased.
Walkathon to be held from Kalinga Stadium to Janata Maidan on 21st January, 2026 at 6 AM.
Prizes will be given to the winners of the Debate & painting competition.
Every evening there will be a cultural programme with folk dance and music.

In connection with the organization of the state-level “Fisheries–Animal Conclave Odisha-2026,” a press meet was held today at the Veterinary College Auditorium.
Hon’ble Minister Shri Gokulananda Mallik attended the press meet and placed detailed information about the MPSO-26 before the media. Later, while responding to questions from media representatives, he said that this conclave would become a grand platform of awareness and prosperity for fish farmers and livestock rearers. He also shared information on the steps being taken to make Odisha self-reliant in the production of milk, meat, eggs, and fish.
Suresh Kumar Vashishth, Principal Secretary, F&ARD; Bijay Amruta Kulange, Director, AH & VS; Mohammad Saddik Alam, Director of Fisheries; along with other departmental officers and media representatives were present in the Press Meet.
As a measure to sensitize farmers regarding enhanced production & productivity through adoption of modern technology in fisheries & animal husbandry sector, Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department is going to organize state level ‘Matsya-Pranee Samavesh Odisha (MPSO-2026).
The Samavesh with the theme “Innovative interventions in Fisheries and Livestock for Vikashit Odisha”shall be held for three days from 21st to 23rd January 2026 at Janata Maidan, Bhubaneswar. Honble CM of Odisha Shri Mohan Charan Majhi will inaugurate MPSO-2026. The valedictory session will be graced by the Honble Governor of Odisha Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati.
More than 8000 farmers, entrepreneurs & WSHG members @ 26 from each block of the state shall attend the Samavesh in different days. Around 348 farmers @ 6 from each sub-division and entrepreneurs shall be awarded as Champions for their exemplary achievements in fish & livestock farming. Best 20 Officers of Fisheries and ARD sector will also be felicitated for their contribution in development of the sector.
Lead farmers/entrepreneurs/WSHG members shall take part in 12 interactive panel discussions on fisheries, ARD and agriculture. Learned Panelists from across the country and some overseas panelists will deliberate on different topics.
There will be a programme ‘Ask the Minister’ where the farmers coming from across the state shall ask questions to the Hon’ble Minister, Shri Gokulananda Mallick, F&ARD & he will answer all the questions.
More than 100 exhibitors from across the country involving various companies, NGOs, national level institutions, state government departments & directorates, cooperatives will display modern technology in fisheries, ARD & agriculture sector inside 3 hangars with around 208 stalls. Live animal & fish demonstration will be made in 2 open hangars with display of bio-floc technology, cage culture fish farming, high yielding cross-bred cows, sex sorted semen calves, environmentally controlled poultry houses etc.
Exhibitions in open space of the Samavesh will draw much attraction of the visitors with Murrah Buffalo Bull (“SURVEER” & “INDER” from Haryana), PUNGANUR COW from Andhra Pradesh, KANKREJ Bull (Gujarat) Virtual reality farm tour, Dog Show, Pet Fashion Show, Selfie with PM, CM & Ministers, Poultry Experience Zone, Pet Zone, Kids Zone, Painting Exhibition, Drone Show, Laser Show etc.
The Buffalo Bull of Haryana “SURVEER” & “INDER” & KANKREJ Bull (Gujarat) will create awareness among dairy farmers of Odisha to go for breeding with Murrah for enhanced productivity. Small breed Punganur Cattle coming from Andhra Pradesh will be displayed and it will make awareness among the cowherds of our state regarding the new facets of Gopalan.
A Walkathon from from Kalinga Stadium to Janata Maidan shall be organized on 21st January 2026 at 6 AM on the inaugural day of the Samavesh.
To make MPSO-2026 more eventful and creating impact on young minds regarding the theme of the Samavesh, eloquence & Painting competitions are being organised among veterinary, fisheries and management college/polytechnic students. The best students of these competitions shall be awarded in the Samavesh.
Cultural programmes will be organized on each evening of the Samavesh involving folk & classical music and dance viz. Sambalpuri, Dhemsa, Odishi, Chhau etc. On 21st January Ananya Sritam Nanda & Barnali Hota; on 22nd January Diptirekha Padhi; on 23rd January Swayam Padhi will perform Melody.
