Bhubaneswar, 25/11/2025 ( Odisha Samachar/Rajat Mohapatra)-A delegation led by CMD Dr Ranjit Rath , CGM Santanu Kumar Saikia, OGEL RAJEEV KUMAR TAMULI & others of from Oil India Ltd met Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal, Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department in Kharabela Bhawan and had a discussion on the progress of six Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG) plants being developed across Odisha.

The meeting discussed project timelines, readiness for commissioning, and integration with municipal waste systems to ensure steady feedstock supply. Both sides stressed the importance of converting urban waste into green energy as part of Odisha’s broader clean-energy and circular-economy vision.
Smt. Padhee underlined the Government’s focus on promoting sustainable waste-to-energy models that reduce landfill burden and create local economic value. The Oil India delegation expressed confidence in achieving key milestones and reaffirmed its commitment to partnering closely with the Department.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to fast-track coordination between Oil India and urban local bodies so that the CBG plants can be commissioned in a time-bound manner and contribute meaningfully to the State’s green-growth agenda.Sri Binaya kumar Dash Addl Secretary was present during the discussion.
