44th India International Trade Fair 2025

Visitors Enthralled by Tribal Handicrafts

India Filled with the Aroma of Koraput Coffee

High Demand for Organic Agricultural Products

New Delhi / Bhubaneswar, 24/11/2025 ( Odisha Samachar/Rajat Mohapatra)-The Odisha Pavilion, located at Hall No. 4 in the Bharat Mandapam complex at the 44th India International Trade Fair 2025, has become the centre of attraction due to its exquisite design. The charming handicrafts prepared by tribal artisans available at affordable prices, along with processed food products made from organically produced agricultural commodities, are witnessing a special demand. Following the Prime Minister’s appreciation of Koraput Coffee in the Mann Ki Baat programme public interest in Koraput Coffee has increased significantly compared to previous years.

On behalf of the State Government’s Department of SC & ST and Minority & Backward Classes Welfare, the TDCCOL and the Odisha State Tribal Museum under the SCSTRTI are participating in the Odisha Pavilion at the trade fair.

Considering the demand seen in previous years at the trade fair, paddy craft by the Bhottada tribe of Nabarangpur district, Dowcra metal crafts of the Santal tribe of Mayurbhanj district, and the distinct paintings of the Gond tribe of Keonjhar district & Saura tribe of Rayagada district are being placed in the particular stalls. Additionally, various household items made from sabai grass by the ‘Maa Andharibudhi Sabai PG’ of Mayurbhanj are also attracting enthusiastic buyers.

Following the advocacy of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for Koraput Coffee in his Mann Ki Baat programme, the TDCCOL has opened a dedicated stall to meet the growing national and international demand for Koraput Coffee. The stall has been witnessing a large gathering of buyers. Especially those who tasted Koraput Coffee during the IITF of previous years are now purchasing it in larger quantities. Notably, during the visit of Odisha Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi to the Odisha Pavilion on 22nd November, himself tasted Koraput Coffee and encouraged people to promote this indigenous product in larger quantities, with the aim of making India self-reliant in coffee production.

Various agricultural and horticultural products produced organically by Odisha’s tribal communities have created a distinct identity in the market. To provide global market access to processed food products made from these organic commodities, a variety of items are being offered at the Adisha stall of the Odisha Tribal Development Cooperative Corporation Ltd. These include Kandhamal turmeric powder, black mustard, brown rice, dried red chili and other food products. Additionally, medicinal herbal powders traditionally used by tribal communities for maintaining good health & wellness are also generating strong interest among visitors.

Within the past ten days of the trade fair, the four stalls of the Department of SC, ST, Minority & Backward Classes Welfare have collectively achieved business worth ₹1.3 lakh.
