Child Artist Dibyendu Mohapatra got “Pilanka Akshaya Samman-2024”
Tribute to Legendary Music Director, Singer & Lyricist Akshaya Mohanty by children
Bhubaneswar, 17/11/2025 ( Odisha Samachar/Rajat Mohapatra)- The 36th PECUC Sisumela celebrated Odia music icon Akshaya Mohanty tonight with a passionate performance by children at the Ekamrahat Amphitheatre. “Pilanka Akhaya,” marked the 23nd anniversary of his legacy. His timeless melodies, sung by the young participants, created a deeply moving homage to the beloved singer, lyricist, and music director. Singer of the young generation Dibyendu Mohapatra awarded with prestigious Pilanka Akshaya Samman 2025.
Ekamrahat reverberate with songs like Jhumi Jhumi Ase Akhi ……, Nadira Nama Alasa Kanya….., Dariya Kule Basi ……, Jochana Luchana …….., Rupa Sagadi Re Suns Kaniya …, He Faguna Tume ………, Danda Balunga…, Kie Sata Kie Satara …….. Sei Dipa Achhi….The singers were Sidhishna Bindhani, Dibyendu Mohapatra, Deeshna Divyanshi Sahoo, Aradhya Das, Kirti Chandra Swain, Gargee Priyadarshini, Srihanshrish Moharana, Sai Sudha, Dibyanshi Rout. They were assisted in musical instrument by Sarat Kumar Pani, Siba Narayan Mohanty, Sima Bhoi, Kishor and Alok. The prizes were given to the winners of song competition. Today’s programme was organized by PECUC in joint collaboration with Rotary Club Bhubaneswar Unique.
Eminent singer and Chief Guest Sri Debasish Mohapatra appreciated this initiative of PECUC and gave tribute to the legendary singer. Eminent singer Sri. Bibhu Das, Sri Laxmikant Palit, & Ms. Bandita Das, were also spoke on this occasion. Other notable personalities like, Pritikant Panda, Programme Manager, OSCPS, Pradeep Kumar Biswal, IAS, (Retd.), Rotarian Dibyaranjan Dash, President and CEO, Herbage Herbals and Rotary Unique Bhubaneswar, Tapan Kumar Mohanty, Horticulturalist & Singer, Madhumita Das, Psychologist, were also present on this occasion Winner of the song competition received prize today.
Dr. Minakshi Panda, Chairman, PECUC, Mr. Ranjan Kumar Mohanty, Secretary PECUC, Mrs. Anuradha Mohanty, Executive Director, PECUC, also spoke on the occasion. Ratna Dash, Puja Panda, Sumitra Mohanty, Lakhmikant Mahanta, Shantilata Sahoo of PECUC facilitated the programme. The special programme was anchored by Arushi Adwika, & Harshali Dora.
