Bhubaneswar,03/11/2025( Odisha Samachar/Rajat Mohapatra )-The Kalinga Nippon Buddha Sangh solemnly observed the 53rd Anniversary Memorial Service of the Dhauli Shanti Stupa at Dhauli, Bhubaneswar, paying tribute to the timeless message of peace and non-violence that the monument represents.
The event was attended by dignitaries, monks, devotees, and peace advocates from across Odisha and beyond. The ceremony included chanting of Buddhist prayers, floral tributes, and reflections on the enduring vision of Fujii Guruji, the revered Japanese monk who founded the Dhauli Shanti Stupa in collaboration with Indian peace workers in 1972.
In his message, Fujii Guruji had emphasized that true peace arises from compassion, selflessness, and unity among all nations—a message that continues to inspire global peace movements today.
Mr. Samir Mohanty, Mr Ani Dhir, Eng Diptirekha Pattnaik, Secretary Liu kyu youn along with other members of the Kalinga Nippon Buddha Sangh, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed to organizing the event.
Mr Rabi Moharana, the Development Coordinator of the Sangh reaffirmed its commitment to promote the ideals of the Buddha—non-violence (Ahimsa), compassion (Karuna), and universal harmony (Shanti)—as guiding principles for humanity.
The 53rd Memorial Service also marked a moment of rededication to the cause of world peace, echoing Dhauli’s historic significance as the place where Emperor Ashoka embraced Buddhism after the Kalinga War and renounced violence.
