Kausalyaganga/ Bhubaneswar, 11/10/2025 ( Odisha Samachar)- ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA), Kausalyaganga, Bhubaneswar, and KVK-Khordha jointly organized the live streaming of the Launch of Pradhan Mantri Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) and Allied Schemes on 11 October 2025, coinciding with the national event held at ICAR-IARI, Pusa, New Delhi.
During the programme, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India launched the PM Dhan Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (₹24,000 crore) and the Mission for Aatmanirbharta in Pulses (₹11,440crore). The event also included the inauguration of 1034 projects under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund and the laying of foundation stones for projects worth ₹800 crore across allied sectors. Major milestones celebrated included 50 lakh farmers enrolled in 10,000 FPOs, 50,000 farmers certified under Natural Farming, and 38,000 MAITRIs trained nationwide. The Prime Minister interacted with farmers and distributed certificates, reaffirming the government’s commitment to self-reliant, sustainable, and inclusive agricultural growth.
Dr. S. S. Giri, Director, ICAR-CIFA, briefed on the event and highlighted the importance of these initiatives in strengthening agricultural growth, farmer empowerment, and rural livelihoods. Dr. Himanshu Kumar De, SIC, Social Science Section, spoke about the importance of the programme for farmers, while Dr. Harapriya Nayak, Senior Scientist & Head, KVK-Khordha, ICAR-CIFA, coordinated the event and discussed various government schemes beneficial for farmers.Around 232 farmers including women, and officials participated in the live-streaming session with great enthusiasm and interest.
