Cuttack,22/9/2025 ( Odisha Samachar )-On the allegation of misappropriation of Govt. money of Rs.21.98 Lakhs for distribution of Old Age Pension (OAP)&Madhubabu Pension Yojana (MBPY) amongst the beneficiaries in Khandahata GP under Kanas Panchayat Samiti, Dist-Puri, an enquiry was taken up by Odisha Vigilance. Thorough verification revealed that accused Sri Tuna Pradhan, PEO (Panchayat Executive Officer) and Sri Sagar Kumar Das, GRS (Gram RozgarSevak), both of Kanas PanchyatSamiti, Dist-Purihave misappropriated Govt. money to the tune Rs.21.98 Lakhs meant for Old Age Pension (OAP) and Madhubabu Pension Yojana (MBPY)during Financial year 2022-23 to 2024-25without distributing the same amongst beneficiaries.

Hence,both the accused persons namely Sri Tuna Pradhan, PEO and Sri Sagar Kumar Das, GRS, both of Kanas PanchyatSamiti, Dist-Puriwere arrested by Odisha Vigilance and forwarded to the Court of Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar today for the said offence.

In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No.20/2025 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(a) of PC (Amendment) Act, 2018/316(5)/61(2) BNS has been registered against him.

Investigation of the case is in progress.
