Cuttack, 12/9/2025 ( Odisha Samachar)-On the allegation of misappropriation of Govt. money over Rs.5.68 Lakhs for distribution to senior citizens as Old Age Pension, an enquiry was taken up by Odisha Vigilance. Thorough verification revealed that accused Miss PuspitaMahakud, Former PEO, Luhasila GP under Bijatola Block, Dist-Mayurbhanj, A/p-attached to Sub-Collector, Rairangpur, Dist-Mayurbhanj was found to have misappropriated Govt. money to the tune Rs.5,68,950/- meant for distribution to senior citizens as Old Age Pension.

Hence, accused Miss Mahakuda was arrested by Odisha Vigilance and forwarded today to the Court of Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Baripada.

In this connection, Balasore Vigilance PS Case No.10 dated 12.09.2025 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(a) of PC (Amendment) Act,2018/409 IPC has been registered against her.

Investigation of the case is in progress.
