THREE GOVT. FUNCTIONARIES CONVICTED TODAY IN TWO VIGILANCE (TRAP & DA) CASES.

  1. SRI BASANTA KUMAR MISHRA, FORMER RI (RETIRED) AND SRI SISIR KUMAR BEHERA, ARI, BOTH OF SOLE REVENUE CIRCLE UNDER GURUNDIA TAHASIL, DIST-SUNDARGARH CONVICTED IN BRIBERY CASE AND SENT TO JAIL.

 

Cuttack, 22/8/2025 ( Odisha Samachar ) -Today i.e. on 22.08.2025, Sri Basanta Kumar Mishra, Former RI (Retired) and Sri Sisir Kumar Behera, ARI, both of Sole Revenue Circle under GurundiaTahasil, Dist-Sundargarh, who were charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act, 1988/34 IPC for demanding and taking bribe from a complainant for issuance of income & caste certificate, were convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance,Sundargarh. The Hon’ble Court sentenced each to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 years and to pay fine.

Further, the convicts namely Sri Basanta Kumar Mishra, Former RI (Retired) and Sri Sisir Kumar Behera, Former ARI, both of Sole Revenue Circle under GurundiaTahasil, Dist-Sundargarh were sent to jail custody to serve their sentence.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Sri Basanta Kumar Mishra, Former RI (Retired) and dismissal of Sri Sisir Kumar Behera, Former ARI, Sole Revenue Circle under GurundiaTahasil, Dist-Sundargarh, A/p-ARI, RajgangpurTahasil, Dist-Sundargarh from service following their conviction.

Sri ParameswarKisan, Ex-DSP, Vigilance, SambalpurDivision had investigated the case and Sri ShyamSundar Mishra, Spl. PP and Sri Sandeep Panda, Asst. PP Vigilance, Sundargarhjointly conductedthe case on behalf of the prosecution.

  1. SRI TRILOCHAN SAHU, FORMER SENIOR CLERK, PADAMPUR TAHASIL, DIST-BARGARH CONVICTED IN DA CASE.

 

Today i.e. on 22.08.2025, Sri TrilochanSahu, Former Senior Clerk, PadampurTahasil, Dist-Bargarh (Retired), who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 for possessing disproportionate assets (DA), was convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Bargarh and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and fine.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for stoppage of pension of Sri TrilochanSahu, Former Senior Clerk, PadampurTahasil, Dist-Bargarh (Retired) following his conviction.

Sri BalakrushnaSahu, Ex-Inspector, Vigilance, SambalpurDivision had investigated the case and Sri Gourmohan Dashand Sri RabinarayanBhoi, both of Spl. PPs Vigilance, Bargarhjointly conductedthe case on behalf of the prosecution.
