DA TO THE TUNE OF 148% OF HIS KNOWN SOURCES OF INCOME INCLUDING 3 MULTI STOREYED

BUILDINGS INCLUDING 1 AT BBSR & TWO AT GUNPUR, ONE FARM

HOUSE, 3 HIGH VALUE PLOTS AT BBSR, GOLD 460 GMS, DEPOSITS

OVER RS.80 LAKHS, 1 FOUR WHEELER, 1 PAIR OF ANTLER HORNS, A

COUNTRY MADE GUN, ETC UNEARTHED.

ONE MORE CASE INSTITUTED UNDER WILD LIFE PROTECTION ACT,

1972 AGAINST SRI PATTNAIK FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF ANTLERS.

Bhubaneswar/Cuttack 24/07/2025(Odisha Samachar /Today i.e. on 24.07.2025, Sri Jagannath Pattnaik, Executive Engineer, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Bhubaneswar, was arrested by Odisha Vigilance and forwarded to the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar for possession of disproportionate assets (DA) to the tune of 148% of his known sources of income, which he could not account for satisfactorily.

 In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case No.16 dated 24.07.2025 was registered against Sri Jagannath Pattnaik, Executive Engineer and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC (Amendment) Act,2018.

During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets worth crores were unearthed in the name of Sri Jagannath Pattnaik, Executive Engineer and his family members;

1) One triple storeyed building with area approx 4560 Sqft. over plot

No.RP-12, Badagada, Bhubaneswar.

2) Two double storeyed buildings at Gunpur, Dist-Rayagada.

3) Three high-value plots, including two located in Badagada and one at

Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar.

4) One farm house spread over Ac.1.57 dcml located at mouza Ranapur, Balianta Tahasil, Bhubaneswar, Dist-Khordha comprising one double storeyed building of area 833 sqft, another house around 570 sqft., a fish farm pond and plantation featuring coconut, banana, dragon fruit, guava, grapes, blackberry, lemon, red sandalwood, mango trees, and a poultry farm currently housing 15 chicks.

5) Other items – 1 pair of antler horns and a country made gun was also

recovered.

6) Gold ornaments weighing approx 460 gms.

7) Bank and insurance deposits & investment in Mutual Funds worth

Rs.80,35,371/-.

8) 1 four wheeler (Maruti Grand Vitara) & 2 two wheelers.

9) Cash & household articles worth around Rs.7 Lakhs.

After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income,

expenditure and assets of Sri Jagannath Pattnaik, Executive Engineer, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC), Bhubaneswar were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 148% in excess of his known sources of income.

Investigation of the case is in progress.

Further, one more case vide OR case No.3 in Balipatna Forest Range under Khordha Wild Life Division of year 2025-26 under section (9)(49)(51) of Wild Life Protection Act,1972 was instituted against Sri Jagannath Pattnaik, EE, BMC for illegal possession of antler horns.
