Cuttack,3/4/2025 ( Odisha Samachar )-Today i.e. on 03.04.2025, Sri Sukanta Kumar Das, Former Junior Clerk, office of Tahasildar, Kujanga, Dist-Jagatsinghpur, A/p-Junior Clerk, Collectorate, Jagatsinghpur, who was charge sheeted by Odisha Vigilance in a case vide Cuttack Vigilance PS case No.15 dt.23.09.2017 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d)/7 PC Act, 1988 for demanding and taking bribe of Rs.10,000/- from a complainant for facilitating issuance of RoR in his favour in a lease case, was convicted by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Cuttack and sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 4 years and to pay fine.

 Further, the convict Sri Sukanta Kumar Das, Former Junior Clerk, office of Tahasildar, Kujanga, Dist-Jagatsinghpur, A/p-Junior Clerk, Collectorate, Jagatsinghpur was sent to jail custody to serve his sentence.

Odisha Vigilance will now move the competent authority for dismissal of Sri Sukanta Kumar Das, Former Junior Clerk, office of Tahasildar, Kujanga, Dist-Jagatsinghpur, A/p-Junior Clerk, Collectorate, Jagatsinghpur from service following his conviction.

Smt. Jagyaseni Pradhan, Ex-Inspector, Vigilance, Cuttack Division had investigated the case and Sri Sarbeswar Barik, Spl. PP, Vigilance, Cuttack conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
