The food court remains a major crowd-puller, with millet-based delicacies, organic produce, and traditional Odia cuisines in high demand.
As the mela coincided with Maha Shivaratri, cultural celebrations reached new heights. The audience were mesmerized by a spectacular performance from renowned artist Barnali Hota, whose soulful renditions captivated the crowd. Adding to the grandeur, the Guru Gangadhar Gotipua Gurukul presented a spellbound Gotipua dance performance, a cherished Odia tradition that enthralled visitors.
Day 5 of the mela was marked by a special visit from Shri Bisweswar Tudu, former Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs and Jal Shakti, who interacted with SHG members and commended their entrepreneurial spirit. His visit underscored the government’s commitment to strengthening tribal artisans and women-led enterprises in Odisha.
With the festival fervor adding to the excitement, footfall at the mela surged to an impressive visitors by the end of Day 5, contributing to a cumulative sales turnover of ₹ 1.64 crore.
The overwhelming participation from buyers and business enthusiasts is creating significant opportunities for Mission Shakti SHGs, further amplifying their reach in the market.
With four more days to go, Subhadra Shakti Mela 2025 promises even greater attractions, cultural showcases, and business opportunities for SHG members.
