Utkarsh Odisha’ MIO Conclave-2025 Sectoral Session

Odisha is attracting more Investors to    Chemicals, Petro Chemicals and Plastics(Industries) Sectors

Bhubaneswar ,29/01/2025(Odisha Samachar/Rajat Mohapatra)- Odisha’s robust infrastructure base and viable industrial climate has turned the current time as the right time for investment in Odisha, said Deputy CM Mrs.  Pravati Parida while complimenting all the partners for extending their sincere efforts to transform our State into ‘Utkarsh Odisha’. Deputy CM has also said that more and more industrialists are showing interest to invest in the state.

Addressing the investors and representatives of industry bodies on the occasion of the seminar titled ‘Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Plastics(industries) Sector, organized on the occasion of Utkarsh Odisha’ she said that Odisha is making great progress in these sectors and is attracting domestic and foreign investors. Odisha has not only brought industrial production within the country, but has also created a specific clientele for its qualitative products and services in the international arena.

Minister for Industries, SD & TE Shri Sampad Chandra Swain was present on this occasion and said that Odisha is going to be a partner in the triumph of developed India due to the progress and prosperity in the industrial sector. Odisha has now become a special hub in the production of Chemicals, Petrochemicals and Plastics. This has been possible due to the development of infrastructure and provision of ancillary facilities backed by long-term prospects in our industrial sector. Many ancillary industrial units have been established depending on the IOL Refinery established in Paradip. Similarly, the commercial growth of small industries established in Paradip Plastic Park has also been possible as the Govt. has been focusing on value-added products, said Minister Shri Swain.

 In this session, Mr Bhupinder Singh Punia, Managing Director, IPICOL and IDCO, had a  detailed presentation on “ Catalysing Future: Odisha’s road map for Chemical and Petrochemical sectors.

The welcome address and context setting of this session was addressed by Mr. Manas Majumdar, Partner and Leader, Oil and Gas Sector, P.W.C., India while Mr. Ravi Genka, Chairman and Managing Director, Laxmi Organic Ltd., Mr. Aditya Beri, President, Chemours Inc., Mr. N. Suresh Krishnan, Managing Director, PPL., Mr. Manish Kiri, Chairman, Kiri Industries Ltd., Mr. Manikant Nayak, MD, Tata Steel, SEZ  shed light on the importance of the topic. Shri Ranjit Rath, CMD, Oil India Ltd., gave special address on the IOCL advantage: anchoring India’s Next-Gen. Industries.

 Mr. Amlan Kanti Das, Senior Vice-President, Operation and RD, Luminous Power Technology Pvt Ltd., presented on New-age Emerging   Technologies – and advanced  chemistry  on   Battery Cell manufacturing . Shri CP Bhartia, Board of Trustees, North Odisha Chamber of Commerce and Industry, proposed the vote of thanks.
