Bhubaneswar/Bargarh: 23/01/2025 ( Odisha Samachar / Rajat Mohapatra )-Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary to Government, Department of Water Resources, Smt. AnuGarg, IAS visited irrigation projects in Sambalpur and Bargarh districts today. During this tour, shevisited thePump House of GangadharMeher Lift Irrigation Project in Bargarh districtaimed at providing irrigation facilities to Additional Ayacutarea under the project.

During the visit, DC-cum-ACS interacted with the office-bearers of PaniPanchayats including women functionaries about the management issues of PaniPanchayatsand gave necessary suggestions for smooth functioning the PPs and how this project is going to benefit the farmers.

The Development Commissioner visited the outlet flushing work at Dumerpani and Sarandapali under the project to facilitate irrigation of 20 hectares and 2 hectares of  landin respective area.

The entire area of AdditionalAyacut totaling to 5750 ha. will be irrigated in the ensuing Kharif season. This is Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) enabled. Trial irrigation in this Rabi season to the tune of 2000 ha. will also be provided.
