Bhubaneswar 20/01/2025( Odisha Samachar/Rajat Mohapatra)-Paddy procurement continues in the state this kharif season. At present, 17 lakh 49 thousand 987 farmers in 30 districts have registered to participate in the process.
The procurement process began from Bargarh on November 20.
This will continue till March 31. Bargarh district has the highest number of 1,55,617 registered farmers in the state. Similarly, lakhs of farmers have registered from Balasore, Ganjam and Kalahandi districts. After field-level verification of the applications, tokens are being issued to farmers for porcurement. Similarly, a three-tier verification of farmers’ accounts is being conducted. Steps have also been taken to ensure that no eligible farmer is left out of the process. In addition, arrangements have been made to pay the dues of the concerned farmers to their accounts within 48 hours.
At present, elaborate arrangements have been made for procurement of paddy in 3903 mandis in 30 districts of the state. The district collectors of each district are taking steps for speedy redressal of any complaint related to paddy procurement. Apart from this, the mandis also have necessary arrangements for the farmers.
