Cultural troupes at GP level to sensitise farmers
Bhubaneswar 02/12/2024 ( Odisha Samachar/Rajat Mohapatra)- The government has taken all steps to create mass awareness among the farmers for the sale of paddy in the current kharif season. Awareness is being created at the grassroots level about farmers from registration to getting tokens, quality of paddy and sale of paddy, getting a Minimum Support Price. Extensive measures have been taken to create awareness at all block and district levels in the state.
Special arrangements have been made by the food supply and consumer welfare department to create awareness. Hoardings have been installed at district and block headquarters and messages are being given about various steps taken by the government for the betterment of farmers. Even in the mandis, posters and flexes are providing various useful information related to the sale of paddy to the farmers. Information is being given about the sale of paddy and the means of lodging of complaint in case of any irregularity. Related pamplhets are also being distrubted among public or procurement.
Apart from this, farmers are also being made aware during festivals held in the respective districts. Various audio and video vans also spread information about the date and procedure for paddy procurement in that district. Even at the panchayat level, the message of paddy procurement is being given through various cultural programmes like Pala, Daskathia. Filed level officals also discuss with farmers at Grampanchayt level on procurement. Even in various television and radio, awareness is being made to the farmers and the public at large.
