Various demands of Odisha regarding agriculture have been presented before the Central Govt.

Sh. KanakVardhanSinghdeo participated in the National Conference on Agriculture – Rabi Crops Program and discussed various Rabi crop related to agriculture in the state. 
Union Agriculture Minister ShriShivraj Singh Chouhan and Agriculture Ministers of other states also attended the conference. In the National Food Security Plan, Shri SinghDeo proposed to provide financial support for the cultivation of pulses and oilseed crops on 2.5 lakh hectares of paddy land. In addition, he have submitted a demand to the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare to increase the field performance expenditure per hectare for sunflower, groundnuts and beekeeping.
He has proposed to approve the annual program plan of 8.34 crore rupees provided by the state in the Agro Forestry program under the National Development Plan. Keeping in view the state’s vulnerability to natural disasters, it is proposed to set up a research center for deep land agriculture in coastal Odisha and an agricultural machinery development, training and testing center to bring innovation in agricultural mechanization in western Odisha.
