Jagatsinghpur , 14/9/2024 ( Odisha Samachar )-KVK Jagatsinghpur conducted a five-days vocational & skill training programme on “Fish farming as a profitable venture” from 10th to 14th September 2024, with the participation of 30 farmers and farm women. The training covered advance fish farming technology ,pre and post stocking pond management, proper feed management, proper water quality management,proper prophylactic measure and knowledge about different diseases and its management and Ornamental fish farming & breeding technology . Trainees, including farm women were trained on application of lime in the pond, detection of disease in the fish by outer and inner observation, control measure of different common diseases, netting to check the fish in periodic manner etc. The training program has also covered on biofloc based fish farming , preparation of floc & suitable fish species for biofloc tank culture. On the 4th day, a demonstration on aquarium tank preparation by glass cuttings was conducted . In this occasion farmers from different villages like Garam, Siundi, Khandakopala, Manijangha, Indarpa, Uashadiha, Chardia, Arakhia, Kutilo etc have benefited.This program was led by Sarita Das, Programme Assistant Fishery, KVK Jagatsinghpur. Certificates were distributed by Dr. Jibanjit Sen, Senior Scientist and Head, KVK Jagatsinghpur, with support from other KVK scientists and staffs. Among others Mr. Debasis Panda, Scientist, Plant protection; Dr. Pradipta Majhi, Scientist Soil Science, Dr.Dwarika Mohan Das,Scientist Agriculture Engeenering,Sasmita Purohit, Scientist Home science, Sarita Das, PA, Fishery, KVK Jagatsinghpur and all other staff members helped in organizing the pragramme.
