Bhubaneswar ,23/1/2024 ( Odisha Samachar / Rajat Mohapatra )- After the observance of the PaniPanchayat fortnight,2024 in 117 Divisions of the State on 16th January, 2024, the Pakhya now has reached the second phase for observance across 30 districts of the State on 24th January, 2024.
The Pakhya gives us an opportunity to acknowledge the immense contribution being made by the PaniPanchayats and farmers in the water sector and to generate awareness amongst the stakeholders, across levels to be more aware about various facets of water governance.
Various activities such asdebate, essay, painting, quiz has been held for the purpose at district level and successful participants will be awarded in the district level celebration. Exhibition of Model competitions amongst the first rankers from division level; PaniPanchayatSamabesha; Information Education Communication, Social Behavioural Change Communication (IEC/SBCC) activities through exhibitions and Rathetc will be held on the eve of district level observance of this fortnight. Banners, brochures, logo, slogan, tagline, anthem, oath etc have also been prepared to create the buzz.
For the purpose, message of the Hon’ble Chief Minister is being conveyed sensitizing the PaniPanchayat members, farmers and other important stakeholders on the various initiatives the Government is taking in the water sector and to acknowledge their contributions in Panchayats in water governance, participatory irrigation management and ensuring equity at the grassroot level.
The PaniPanchayatRaths, carrying Information Education CommunicationSocial Behavioural Change Communication (IEC/SBCC) materials and audio visuals, have in the meanwhile, after covering the projects, divisions and prominent places of the district will be returning to the district headquarters by 24th January, 2024.
