Bhubaneswar, 26/9/2023 ( Odisha Samachar )- Six ARS Probationers from ICAR-NAARM recently concluded their Field Experience Training (FET) at ICAR-CIFA, guided by Dr. H K De, Principal Scientist, and Dr. PushpaChaudhary, Scientist. 
Their training took place from September 4th to September 22nd in Barijanga village, part of the Balianta block in Khordha district. 
During this period, the group conducted a comprehensive survey in Barijanga village, utilizing Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) techniques and other diagnostic tools to gain insights into the agricultural landscape, as well as to understand the various social and economic conditions of the local farmers. They also collected data at the household and block levels, engaged with Farmers’ Producer Organizations (FPOs), women’s Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and other stakeholders.
On September 21st, 2023, the probationers presented their findings at ICAR-CIFA, with the evaluation of their performance carried out by Dr. Ramasubramanian V, Head of the Research Management Division. The seminar included notable figures such as Dr. P K Sahoo, Director of CIFA, Dr. HarapriyaNayak, Head of KVK Khordha, Mr. Ajay Kumar Dash, SMS at KVK Khordha, as well as heads of various divisions within CIFA and other scientists. 
All attendees at the seminar applauded the probationers for their excellent presentation and their diligent efforts in diagnosing agricultural challenges and providing instant suggestions. It is expected that their work will significantly contribute to better coordination between CIFA and KVK Khordha, ultimately benefiting the social and economic conditions of the villagers.
