CASH RS.1,45,800/- RECOVERED & SEIZED.
Cuttack,24/10/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Based on reliable inputs, yesterday on 23.10.2022 at about 7.50 PM, the team of Odisha Vigilance intercepted Sri Dhiraj Lenka, IIC, Kotagarh PS, Dist-Kandhamal on the main road, Balliguda in front of Jagannath temple while he was travelling in a Bolero vehicle. During interception, suspected ill-gotten cash to the tune of Rs.1,45,800/- (Rupees One Lakh Forty-five Thousand Eight Hundred) was recovered from Sri Lenka, which he could not account for satisfactorily. The cash has been seized.
Following interception, simultaneous searches are being conducted at his residential Govt. quarter and his office located at Kotgarh PS as well as the residential quarter of his wife located at Khajuriapada, Dist-Kandhamal.
In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance PS Case No.22 dated 23.10.2022 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) of Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered against Sri Dhiraj Lenka, IIC, Kotagarh PS, Dist-Kandhamal. Sri Lenka has been arrested today i.e. on 24.10.2022 and is being forwarded to the Court.
The investigation of the case is in progress.
