Cuttack,19/10/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 19.10.2022, Md. Nasir, Tax Collector, Rajgangpur Municipality, Dist- Sundargarh has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs. 13,000/-(Rupees Thirteen Thousand) from a Complainant for updating the Holding Tax of last 3 years and to process the file for creating a new holding number in his name in a lower price.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 19.10.2022, wherein accused Md. Nasir, Tax Collector was caught by a team of Odisha Vigilance in front of the main gate of Rajgangpur Municipality office while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.13,000/- (Rupees Thirteen Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Md. Nasir and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash as well as pant pocket wash of Md. Nasir gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential house of Md. Nasir at Rajgangpur Town, Dist-Sundargarh and his office room at Rajgangpur. Accused Md. Nasir, Tax Collector has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance P.S. Case No.23 dated 18.10.2022 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
