Three illegal gun traders were arrested, 3 guns, 15 rounds of ammunition, 3 bikes and 3 mobile phones were seized.

Cuttack, 16/10/2022 (Odisha Samachar) – Cuttack Lalbagh police station has achieved great success. While the police arrested three illegal gun traders, while one managed to escape. Three guns, 15 rounds of ammunition, three bikes and three mobile phones have been seized from the accused. DCP informed that the accused brought guns from Bihar Munger and sold them in other districts including Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur. According to the information, Lalbagh police station IIC received information from reliable sources that 4 persons were dealing illegal  gun trading near Radhanath Training College at around 8:00 pm on Saturday. Special squads were immediately rushed there and managed to arrest three illoegal gun traders, while another escaped. Three guns and 15 rounds of ammunition, three bikes and three mobile phones have been seized from the accused. Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra informed that the accused who has returned will be arrested soon. DCP said that the three arrested accused brought guns from Bihar Munger and were selling them in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur district and surrounding areas. There are multiple cases against the three accused in different police stations. The arrested accused are Gopinath Patra (37) of Dighi village under Niali police station, Srinath Raut (40) of Gatirautpatna under Cuttack SIRI police station and Jyotyranjan Raut (25) of Archil village under Kishannagar police station of Cuttack district. A case has been registered in Lalbagh police station number 246. The three arrested accused have been court forwarded .
