Cuttack,7/10/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 07.10.2022, Sri Sushant Kumar Das, Addl. Programme Officer (Contractual) of Muribahal Block, Dist-Bolangir has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs. 45,000/-(Rupees Forty-five Thousand) as first installment from a Complainant (Gram Sathi) for facilitating release of the bill in respect of renovation work of village pond executed by the complainant under MGNREG Scheme.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 07.10.2022, wherein accused Sri Sushant Kumar Das, Addl. Programme Officer was caught by a team of Odisha Vigilance inside the office premises of Muribahal Block while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.45,000/- (Rupees Forty-five Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Das and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Sri Das gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the parental house of Sri Das at village Asurla, PS-Bangomunda, Dist-Bolangir and his office chamber at Muribahal.
In this connection, Samblpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.36 dated 06.10.2022 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
