DSP IN-CHARGE, SADAR PS, DIST-DHENKANAL ARRESTED WHILE ACCEPTING RS 30,000/- BRIBE FOR FACILITATING COAL TRANSPORTATION BUSINESS.

Cuttack, 30/8/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 30.08.2022, Sri Abhinav Dalua, DSP In-charge, Sadar Police Station, Dist-Dhenkanal has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand) from a complainant (Coal transporter) to facilitate his transportation business. The complainant informed Odisha Vigilance that he had paid Rs.15,000/- on 24.08.2022 to avoid harassment, but Sri Dalua still demanded more.

Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 30.08.2022, wherein accused Sri Abhinav Dalua, DSP In-charge was caught by a team of Odisha Vigilance in his office room while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.30,000/- (Rupees Thirty Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Dalua and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Sri Dalua gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the house of Sri Dalua at Plot No.32/34, Ramachandrapur, Jatani, Khurdha, his paternal house at Meghadambaru, Balasore, house of relative at Jharabeda, Turumunga, Dist-Keonjhar, house of two associates at Dhenkanal town, house at native village Narasinghpur, Dist-Cuttack and his office room as well as office room of his spouse at DPO, Dhenkanal. Accused Sri Abhinav Dalua, DSP In-charge, Sadar Police Station, Dist-Dhenkanal has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Vigilance Cell P.S. Case No.6 dated 29.08.2022 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
In one more Vigilance Operation today, Sri Abhay Kumar Behera, Block Education Officer (BEO), Ghatagaon, Dist-Keonjhar has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) for release of arrear pay of teachers. He had demanded Rs. 60,000/- for release of arrear pay of a group of Asst. Teachers and Rs 15,000/- was the first instalment.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 30.08.2022, wherein accused Sri Abhay Kumar Behera, BEO was caught by a team of Odisha Vigilance in the his office chamber while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.15,000/-(Rupees Fifteen Thousand) from the complainant.

The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Behera and seized in presence of witnesses. Left hand wash as well as pant pocket wash of Sri Behera gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the rented residential house of Sri Behera at Ghatagaon, his house at Red Cross Chhak, Jajpur town, Dist-Jajpur and his office room. Accused Sri Abhay Kumar Behera, BEO has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.25 dated 29.08.2022 U/s 7 PC Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
