Cuttack,3/8/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Yesterday i.e. on 02.08.2022, Smt. Dolly Sethy, Revenue Inspector (RI), Baincha RI Circle, SadarTahasil, Dist-Balasore has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from a complainant for submitting field enquiry report of his deceased minor son (age 3.5 years) who had expired due to drowning on 12.04.2022 in a village pond, for sanction of death compensation of Rs 4 Lakh in favor of the complainant.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 02.08.2022 wherein the accused Smt. Dolly Sethy, RI was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance inside her office room at Baincha RI Office while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Smt. Sethy and seized in presence of witnesses. Bothhands as well as vanity bag wash of Smt. Sethygave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by her. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launchedon the residential house of Smt. Sethy at Srikona, Dist.-Balasore and her office room.Accused Smt. Dolly Sethy, RIhas been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.21 dated 02.08.2022 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
In one more Vigilance Operation today,Sri Anup Kumar Satpathy, Health Worker (Male), A/p- In-chargeVital Statistical Clerk of Haladia Community Health Centre (CHC), Dist-Khurdhahas been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from a complainant for processing application and issuance of death certificate of his late Grandfather and Grandmother. The complainant was in need of the death certificates for sale of a land which was in name of his late Grandparents. To get the death certificates, complainant had approached Sri Satpathy. But accused Sri Satpathy had demanded bribe Rs 5000/- from the complainant for issuance of death certificates.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 02.08.2022 wherein the accused Sri Anup Kumar Satpathy, In-charge Vital Statistical Clerk was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance at his office roomwhile demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Satpathyand seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Satpathygave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launchedon the residential house of Sri Satpathyat Vill-Tangiapada, Ps/Dist-Khurdha and his office room. Accused Sri Anup Kumar Satpathy, In-charge Vital Statistical Clerkhas been arrested and is beingforwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No.21 dated 01.08.2022 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
