Cuttack,9/5/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 09.06.2022, Sri Ranjit Bhoi, Block Education Officer (BEO), Jharbandh Block, Dist-Bargarh has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from a complainant (Head Master) for release of pending salary of teachers of his school under Jharbandh Block, Dist-Bargarh.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 09.06.2022 wherein the accused Sri Ranjit Bhoi, BEO was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in the residential house of complainant at Chandibhata, Ps-Jagdalpur, Dist-Bargarh while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand) from the complainant. The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Bhoi and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash as well as shirt pocket wash of Sri Bhoi gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential house of Sri Bhoi at Tal, Ps-Melchhamunda and office chamber at Jharbandh Block, Dist-Bargarh. Accused Sri Ranjit Bhoi, BEO has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.21 dated 08.06.2022 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
