EX-SENIOR CLERK-CUM-CASHIER, AGALPUR BLOCK, DIST-BOLANGIR, A/P-SECTION OFFICER, COLLECTORATE, BOLANGIR CONVICTED IN VIGILANCE CASE.

Cuttack,29/4/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Sri Birabar Kumbhar, Ex-Senior Clerk-cum-Cashier, Agalpur Block, Dist-Bolangir, A/p-Section Officer, Collectorate, Bolangir was facing trial in the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir in Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.86 dated 29.09.2010 U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(c) PC Act, 1988/409/468/477-A IPC for misappropriation of Govt. money to the tune of Rs.5,79,297/- by falsifying and manipulating official records and using the forged documents as genuine for causing loss to the Govt.

Today, i.e. on 29.04.2022, the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir convicted Sri Birabar Kumbhar, Ex-Senior Clerk-cum-Cashier and sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and to pay fine of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 months for the offence U/s 13(2) of PC Act, 1988. The Hon’ble Court further sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 2 years and to pay fine of Rs.10,000/-(Rupees Ten Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 3 months for the offence U/s 409 IPC. The Hon’ble Court further sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and to pay fine of Rs.2,000/-(Rupees Two Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 month for the offence U/s 468 IPC. The Hon’ble Court further sentenced him to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 year and to pay fine of Rs.2,000/-(Rupees Two Thousand), and in default of payment of fine, to undergo further rigorous imprisonment for a period of 1 month for the offence U/s 477-A IPC. All the sentences are to run concurrently.

Sri R.N. Patra, Ex-Inspector Vigilance, Sambalpur Division had investigated the case and Sri J.K. Sahu, Spl. P.P, Vigilance, Bolangir conducted the case on behalf of the prosecution.
