Cuttack,29/4/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 29.04.2022, Sri Jayadas Khora, ASI of Police, Malkangiri district (now under suspension) was arrested by Odisha Vigilance and forwarded to the Court of Spl. Judge Vigilance, Jeypore for possession of disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily. In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S. Case No.10 dt.29.04.2022 was registered against Sri Jayadas Khora, ASI and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Jayadas Khora, ASI of Police, Malkangiri district, simultaneous house searches were conducted on 28.04.2022 at 5 places in Malkangiri and Koraput district by 5 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 3 DSsP, 5 Inspectors and other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore.
During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets worth over Rs.1.11 Crores were unearthed in the name of Sri Jayadas Khora, ASI and his family members;
- Cash worth Rs.1,00,250/-.
- One double storeyed building (Blessed home) at Megharaj constructions site, Koraput worth over Rs.41.24 Lakh.
- One triple storeyed building at LIC Colony, Koraput adjacent to his relative’s house worth over Rs.33.67 Lakhs.
- 2 plots measuring area Ac.1.95 at mouja Machhara and 0.05 Dcml at mouja Koraput Nagar respectively in Koraput district.
- 290 gms gold and silver ornaments, Bank & Insurance deposits and household articles worth over Rs.23.91 Lakhs.
- 3 two wheelers.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Jayadas Khora, ASI of Police, Malkangiri district (now under suspension) were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which constituted 117% of his known sources of income.
Investigation of the case is in progress.
