DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS OF A.E. INCREASED TO RS.7,47,62,194/-(1108% OF HIS KNOWN SOURCE OF INCOME).
Cuttack,9/4/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Ms. Kalpana Pradhan, second wife of Shri Kartikeswar Raul, Assistant Engineer, Office of Executive Engineer, Minor Irrigation, Bhanjanagar, Dist-Ganjam has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance in Bhubaneswar Vigilance P.S. Case No.8 dt.07.04.2022 for actively abetting the offence of Shri Raul under the PC Act and for concealing the ill-gotten money acquired by Shri Raul through corrupt practices, Bhubaneswar. She was forwarded today i.e. on 09.04.2022 to the Court of Spl. Judge Vigilance. The Court has remanded her to jail custody till dt.22.04.2022. Today, early morning, based on the confession of Ms. Pradhan, searches were conducted at the 1 room house of his sister at Salia Sahi and Rs 1,41,62,400/- cash belonging to Shri Raul was recovered and seized. With this the total cash seizure in this case is Rs 3,41,66,280/- which is the highest ever cash seizure by Odisha Vigilance in a case. Also, 360 gm gold and 1004 gm silver (the current market value worth Rs.18,67,000/-) were recovered. Further, property documents indicating purchase of a Triplex bungalow by Shri Raul from M/s Kesari Estate Pvt Ltd at Pokhariput, Bhubaneswar on cash payment of Rs.78,50,000/- were recovered.
During house searches so far, the total assets including the assets as detailed below worth over Rs.7.39 Crores have been unearthed in the name of Shri Kartikeswar Raul, Assistant Engineer, office of Executive Engineer, Minor Irrigation, Bhanjanagar, Dist-Ganjam and his family members, which include;
- Cash Rs.3,41,66,280/-
- Gold 940 gm and silver 1004 gm.
- One double storeyed building and two Flats in Bhubaneswar and one Double storeyed building at native village Langaleswar, Ps-Khalikote, Dist-Ganjam.
- 7 plots including 2 plots in prime area of Bhubaneswar and 5 plots in an around Khalikote town.
- Bank and Insurance deposits 37.23 Lakhs.
- 1 four wheeler (Hyundai Creta) and 2 two wheelers.
The disproportionate assets come to Rs.7,47,62,194/-(Rupees Seven Crore Forty-seven Lakh Sixty-two Thousand One Hundred Ninety-four) which constituted 1108% of his known sources of income.
Disproportionate Assets are likely to increase further. Shri Raul has been brought on 3 day remand and is being examined further. Investigation of the case is in progress.
