INSPECTOR OF CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETIES-CUM-SECRETARY, REGULATED MARKET COMMITTEE (RMC), SARGIPALI, SUNDARGARH ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE IN DISPROPORTIONATE ASSETS (DA) CASE.

 ASSETS WORTH OVER RS.2.71 CRORES AND DA TO THE TUNE OF 172% OF KNOWN SOURCES OF INCOME UNEARTHED.

Cuttack,3/4/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 03.04.2022, Sri Banamali Naik, Inspector of Co-operative Societies-cum-Secretary, Regulated Market Committee (RMC), Sargipali, Sundargarh was arrested by Odisha Vigilance and forwarded to the Court of Spl. Judge Vigilance, Sundargarh for possession of disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily. In this connection, Rourkela Vigilance P.S. Case No.8 dt.03.04.2022 was registered against Sri Banamali Naik, Inspector of Co-operative Societies-cum-Secretary and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.

On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Banamali Naik, Inspector of Co-operative Societies-cum-Secretary, Regulated Market Committee (RMC), Sargipali, Sundargarh, simultaneous house searches were conducted on 02.04.2022 at 5 places in Sundargarh district by 5 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 5 DSsP, 7 Inspectors, 4 ASIs and other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh.

During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets as detailed below worth over Rs. 2.71 crores were unearthed in the name of Sri Banamali Naik, Inspector of Co-operative Societies-cum-Secretary and his family members;

  • Cash Rs.2.98 Lakhs.
  • One triple storeyed building over plot No. 738/4055, mouja-Talsankara (Kendupada), Ps-Town, Dist-Sundargarh with approx plinth area of 6600 Sqft. worth over Rs.1.11 Crore.
  • Another triple storeyed building over plot No.738/4055, mouja-Talsankara (Kendupada), Ps-Town, Dist-Sundargarh with approx plinth area of 4000 Sqft. worth over Rs.47.70 Lakhs.
  • Single storeyed building at native village Kukuridihi, Ps-Kinjirikela, Dist-Sundargarh worth over Rs.15 Lakhs.
  • Fixed deposits, Bank and Insurance deposits worth approx Rs.62.27 Lakhs.
  • Gold jewelry weighing approx 217 gms and silver ornaments weighing 682 gms worth Rs.10.45 Lakhs.
  • 4 plots in an around Sundargarh town as per details below:
  1. Plot No.2157, Mouja-Talasankara (Patrapali), Dist-Sundargarh.
  2. Plot No.397/1905, Mouja-Chhatabar, Ps-Hemgir, Dist-Sundargarh.
  • Plot No.2616, Mouja-Darlipali, Ps-Lephripada, Dist-Sundargarh.
  1. Plot No.738/4055, Mouja-Talasankara (Kendupada), Dist-Sundargarh.                                       
  • 2 two wheelers.
  • Household articles worth over Rs.14 Lakhs.

 

After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Banamali Naik, Inspector of Co-operative Societies-cum-Secretary, Regulated Market Committee (RMC), Sargipali, Sundargarh were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets to the tune of 172% of his known sources of income.

Investigation of the case is in progress.
