15th GURU DEBAPRASAD AWARD FESTIVAL STARTED WITH ODISSI DANCE, TABLA RECITAL, GHAZAL & SAKHI NATA

Bhubaneswar ,28/3/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )-  : The 15th Guru Debaprasad Award Festival organized by Tridhara a pioneer organization which upholds the unique style of Guru Debaprasad Das. Award festival started with great enthusiasm and excitement among the art connoisseurs thronging to Rabindra Mandap on the inagural day. The festival is still continued on 29th March 2022 at Rabindra Mandap, Bhubaneswar from 6.30 pm onwards. The objective of organizing this award festival is to conferred the awards to the legendary Gurus and artistes in the field of dance and music and also showcase & promote Odissi Dance a synthetic gharana of Guru Debaprasad taking to the essence of tribal and folk traditions.

The first presentation in the inaugural evening was Odissi Dance Jagannatha Swami by the principal dancers of Tridhara. The dance was choreographed by Guru Gajendra Kumar Panda. The dancers of Tridhara was marked by fluid grace, immaculate body movements with amazing precision and charming gestures and postures during the dance. The second presentation of the evening was solo Odissi Dance by Ms. Geethika Shree. She was presented Suryastaka followed by Group Odissi dance by the dancers of Kala Vikash Kendra, Cuttack. They were presented Laxmi Nrusingha choreographed by Guru Gajendra Panda. Next presentation was solo Tabla recital by Anshul Pratap Singh who mesmerized the art connoisseurs by his magical rhythm of fingers with a fine blend of Toda, Tukda, Tihyee, Chakradhar, Paran in Tin Tal with 16 beats followed by Ghazal recital by Ms. Anshika Chauhan who regaled the audience by his mellifluous voice rendering some enchanting Ghajals.

The last presentation of the evening was Group Sakhi Nata by Guru Alok Bishoyi and Group. The all programmes were highly appreciated by the audiences who were deeply engrossed till the end.

The dignitaries who graced the occasion were Surjya Narayan Patra; Hon’ble Speaker, Odisha Legislative Assembly; Prafulla Samal, Hon’ble MLA; Nita Vidyarthi, Dance Critic; Iliana Citaristi, Secretary, Art Vision; Ramli Ibrahim, Noted Odissi Dancer; Surendra Das, Secretary, Chinta O Chetana; Sudhiranjan Mishra, Head of Office, Paradeep Phosphate Limited; Simanchala Panda, Working President, Tridhara and Guru Gajendra Panda, Director, Tridhara. The programme was anchored by Dr. Sangita Gosain.
