Cuttack,18/3/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 18.03.2022, Sri Pramoth Kumar Behuria, Assistant Engineer, RW Section, Soro, RW Division-II, Balasorewas arrested by Odisha Vigilance and forwarded to the Court of Spl. Judge Vigilance, Balasorefor possession of disproportionate assets worth Rs.2,45,27,563/-, which he could not account for satisfactorily. In this connection,BalasoreVigilance P.S. Case No.3 dt.18.03.2022 was registered against Sri Pramoth Kumar Behuria, Assistant Engineer and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018.

On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Pramoth Kumar Behuria, Assistant Engineer, simultaneous house searches were conducted on 17.03.2022 at 5 places in Bhadraak and Balasoredistrict by 5 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 1 Addl. SP, 4 DSsP, 4 Inspectors and other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Balasore.

During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets were unearthed in the name of Sri Pramoth Kumar Behuria, Assistant Engineerand his family members;

• Cash Rs.1,83,416/-.
• Bank and Insurance deposits worth over Rs.46.75 Lakhs.
• One double storeyed building at Bagurai of Bhadrak town.
• Another double storeyed building in same campus at Bagurai of Bhadrak town. The worth of above two buildings is about Rs.70 Lakhs.
• One Market complex comprising 4 rooms at Arnapal, Dist-Bhadrak worth Rs.16 Lakhs.
• Gold recovered from locker in Syndicate Bank, Bhadrak and his house weighing approx 500gms and silver 1 Kg worth over Rs.17.66 Lakhs.
• 16 plots including 3 plots in Bhubaneswar, Khordha and 13 plots in Bhadrak as per details below:

 After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets ofSri Pramoth Kumar Behuria, Assistant Engineerwere calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income to the tune of Rs.2,45,27,563/-(Rupees Two Crore Forty-five Lakh Twenty-seven Thousand Five Hundred Sixty-three) which constituted 358% of his known sources of income.

Investigation of the case is in progress.
