Cuttack,26/01/2022 ( Odisha Samachar )- On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by Sri Prafulla Kumar Sa, Section Officer, Agalpur Block, Dist-Bolangir, simultaneous house searches were conducted at 3 places on 25.01.2022 in Bolangir district by 3 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 2 DSsP, 6 Inspectors, 1 ASI and other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir.
1 double storeyed building at Gandhinagar pada, Bolangir, 1 double storeyed building at Hatpadapada, Bolangir, 4 plots in Bolangir town, 2 two wheelers, Insurance deposits over Rs.3.19 Lakh, Bank deposits, gold & silver ornaments and other movable and immovable properties, all totalling to over Rs 1.32 Crore were unearthed during the house search.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sri Prafulla Kumar Sa, Section Officer were calculated and he was found in possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income which constituted 98% of his known sources of income.
As Sri Prafulla Kumar Sa, Section Officer, Agalpur Block, Dist-Bolangir was found in possession of disproportionate assets, which he could not account for satisfactorily, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.2 dt.26.01.2022 was registered against Sri Prafulla Kumar Sa, Section Officer and his spouse U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b)/12 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act-2018. In course of investigation, today i.e. on 26.01.2022, Sri Prafulla Kumar Sa, Section Officer was arrested and forwarded to the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir. The Hon’ble Court has remanded him to Judicial custody till 08.02.2022.
