4 OPERATIONS IN A DAY BY ODISHA VIGILANCE.

ASSETS WORTH OVER RS 2.51 CRORE UNEARTHED IN HOUSE SEARCH OF ASSISTANT EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, RD DIVISION, RANPUR, DIST-NAYAGARH.

ASSETS WORTH OVER RS 1.3 CRORE UNEARTHED IN HOUSE SEARCH OF SECTION OFFICER, O/O SUB-COLLECTOR, SUBARNAPUR.

REVENUE INSPECTOR, PARMANPUR, PS-SASON, DIST-SAMBALPUR ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE WHILE ACCEPTING RS 15,000/- BRIBE.

REVENUE INSPECTOR, DUDHARI RI CIRCLE, SEMLIGUDA TAHASIL, DIST-KORAPUT ARRESTED BY VIGILANCE WHILE ACCEPTING RS 10,000/- BRIBE.

Cuttack,18/11/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, simultaneous house searches have been launched on the properties of Sri Rusinath Baral, Asst. Executive Engineer, RD Division, Ranpur, Dist-Nayagarh at 4 places in Khordha, Nayagarh and Dhenkanal district today i.e. on 18.11.2021 by 4 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 4 DSsP, 8 Inspectors and other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Dhenkanal.

1 triple storeyed building at Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar, 1 single storeyed building at village Sadangi, Dhenkanal, 9 plots including 7 plots in Sadangi, Dhenkanal district, 1 plot at Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar and 1 plot at Gothpatna, Bhuubaneswar, 1 four wheeler, 1 two wheeler, Bank deposits over Rs.44.73 Lakh, Insurance deposits over Rs.13.42 Lakh, gold & silver ornaments worth over Rs.9.04 Lakh, cash of Rs.1,30,000/- and other movable and immovable properties, all totalling to over Rs 2.51 Crore have been unearthed during the house search so far. Further searches are continuing.

In one more Vigilance Operation today, on the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, simultaneous house searches have been launched on the properties of Sri Ramesh Prasad Nag, Section Officer, office of Sub-Collector, Subarnapur at 3 places in Bolangir and Subarnapur district today i.e. on 18.11.2021 by 3 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 2 DSsP, 5 Inspectors and other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bolangir.

1 triple storeyed and 1 single storeyed building at Larkipali, Bolangir, 4 plots including 3 plots at Larkipali, Bolangir and 1 plot at Dhubamunda, Sonepur, 1 four wheeler, 2 two wheelers, Insurance deposits over Rs.3.15 lakh, Bank deposits over Rs.2.5 lakh, gold & silver ornaments worth over Rs.10.73 Lakh and other movable and immovable properties, all totalling to over Rs 1.3 Crore have been unearthed during the house search so far. Further searches are continuing.

In the third Vigilance operation of the day, Sri Bhikari Charan Kusum, Revenue Inspector (RI), Parmanpur, PS-Sason, Dist-Sambalpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) from a complainant in order to process his file for issuance of RoR of the land in possession of his parents.

Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 18.11.2021 wherein the accused Sri Bhikari Charan Kusum, RI was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in his office room while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) from complainant. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Kusum, RI and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Kusum gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the rented residential house of Sri Kusum at Kuchinda town, office room at Parmanpur and his house at native village Sanjatiapali, Kuchinda. He has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.37 dated 17.11.2021 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.

In the fourth Vigilance operation of the day, Smt. Khirabdi Tanaya Swain, Revenue Inspector(RI), Dudhari RI Circle, Semliguda Tahasil, Dist-Koraput has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from a complainant for submission of report under rehabilitation assistance scheme of the Govt. in favour of complt. required for the appointment due to death of his mother while serving in a Govt. Girls’ High School.

Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 18.11.2021 wherein the accused Smt. Khirabdi Tanaya Swain, RI was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in her office room while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) from complainant. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Smt. Swain, RI and seized in presence of witnesses. Right hand wash of Smt. Swain gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by her. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the residential Govt. quarter of Smt. Swain at Sunabeda, Dist-Koraput and her office room at Patajhola, Dist-Koraput. She has been arrested and will be forwarded to the Court.

In this connection, Koraput Vigilance P.S. Case No.24 dated 17.11.2021 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
