Cuttack, 9/11/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income, simultaneous house searches have been launched on the properties of Sri Pratap Kumar Samal, Deputy Manager, Odisha Police Housing & Welfare Corporation (OPHWC), Bhubaneswar at 9 places i.e. 1) triple storeyed building over Plot No.N/6-416, IRC Village, Bhubaneswar, 2) six storeyed building located opposite of Maa Bhagabati temple, Jayadev Vihar, Bhubaneswar, 3) single storeyed building over Plot No.3/605, Khandagiri, Bhubaneswar, 4) flat No.202 second floor of Narendra Villa, Jayadev Vihar, Bhubaneswar, 5) three storeyed apartment namely Ananya Towers at Balisahi, Basudevpur, Bhadrak, 6) temporary residence of his associate at Ananya Towers, Basudevpur, Bhadrak, 7) house at native village Haripur, Simulia, Balasore 8) house of relative at Haripur, Simulia, Balasore, and 9) office room at OPHWC, Bhubaneswar today i.e. on 09.11.2021 by 10 teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 1 Addl. SP, 5 DSsP, 7 Inspectors and other staff on the strength of Search Warrants issued by the Hon’ble Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
One 5 storeyed building over Khata No.594, Plot No.991 at Gothapatna, Bhubaneswar with total built up area 20,350 Sqft. worth Rs.3,89,60,000/-, one 4 storeyed building over Plot No.N/6-235, IRC Village, Bhubaneswar, 25 other immovable properties worth crores in the name of Sri Samal and his spouse including 17 Plots, 1 Flat and 1 building in Bhubaneswar and Khordha, 4 Plots and 1 (G+3) building at Basudevpur, Bhadrak and 1 double storeyed market complex at Betada, Balasore, and cash of Rs.38,12,900/- have been unearthed during the house search so far. Vigilance Technical Wing is carrying out evaluation of the buildings of Sri Samal and his family members.
The searches are continuing and Sri Samal is being examined in connection with the recoveries made and seizures carried out during the searches.
