Cuttack,01/9/2021 ( Odisha Samachar )- Today i.e. on 01.10.2021, Sri Soumya Ranjan Dash, Amin, office of Revenue Inspector (RI), Kaniha, Dist-Angul has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) from a complainant in order to furnish enquiry report on a plot belonging to him for sanction of home loan in his favour by SBI, Samal Barrage Branch, Angul.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid on 01.10.2021 wherein the accused Sri Soumya Ranjan Dash, Amin was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in the RI office premises, Kaniha while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) from complainant. The bribe money was recovered from the possession of Sri Dash and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Sri Dash gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him. Following the trap, simultaneous searches have been launched on the office room and house at native village of Sri Dash at Khalari, Dist-Angul. He has been arrested and is being forwarded to the Court.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance P.S. Case No.14 dated 30.09.2021 U/s 7 Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
